Van Millwork and Boston Magazine Announce the Design
Winners at the 3rd Annual Festival of Wreaths
NEEDHAM, Mass. — The Festival of Wreaths is a major
annual fundraising event benefiting The Room to Dream Foundation,
whose mission is to create healing environments for children and
adolescents facing chronic and debilitating illnesses.
This year’s event hosted an added element of excitement
- a design competition. Designers interested in participating submitted
proposals, and the talents and creativity of the 11 chosen designers
were showcased in each of the nine vignette rooms, lobby, and exterior
of the Van Millwork Showroom in Needham. Co-sponsored by Van Millwork
and Boston Magazine, the Festival of Wreaths was open to the public
for two weeks and culminated in a final gala night soiree and accolades
ceremony on December 13, 2008. Participating designers were announced
for several awards and exclusive publicity in the upcoming issue
of Boston Home.
The
categories in the design competition included: People’s Choice (visitors
voted on-line for their favorite room), which was won by Christian
Boyer of Boyer Interior Design, LLC, in Manchester, NH ; Designer
Award (judged by other notable designers), which was won by Karyn
Koulopoulus of Silver Beech Studio, in Ashland; the Premier Award
(judged by local and regional celebrities), which was won by Marc
Silipo and Barbara Prosser of Babel’s Paint & Decorating Stores,
in Norwood ; and the Editor’s Choice Award (judged by Rachel Levitt,
Home Editor of Boston Magazine Group, media sponsors of the event),
which was won by Charise Perkett Glasson of Charise Perkett Glasson,
Interiors with Distinction, in Attleboro .
To the right is a wreath from the event, which was
won by a voter in the People’s Choice category.
